Moths.

"There have been over 2400 species of moths recorded in the British Isles".

We have some way to go on this blog.

  1. I am not really a nature person and don`t pretend to know about things that crawl, I was sat outside the other night, it was warm and I was enjoying a cuppa and watching the moths buzzing around my outside lights, I said to my wife "why don`t moths come out during the day when there is plenty of light instead of attacking the artificial light and burning their feet".
As I said I don`t know much about nature and the way it works, we get butterflies of all descriptions but they wont stay still long enough for me to photograph them.

  2. Hello Heiko.
I am on the same wavelength and know virtually nothing about Moths and Insects. What has surprised me is the number of people who actively pursue this line of natural history. There is always help at hand indentifying Butterflies, Dragonflies etc. I wish I had learnt a bit more in my early years, but saying that, it is a fasinating pursuit and one that is never too late to take up.
