Par Beach Pool

Bittern showed briefly around 1ish at the back right of the pool. Scaup pair still present, 3 Female Shoveler, 1 Male Gadwall, 1 Male Wigeon, 20ish Snipe and late afternoon 1 Med Gull with the Black Headed giving them quite a hard time.

I hope the Bittern is still showing when I get down tomorrow.

    I take it the Med.Gull was using bullying tactics on the surrounding BHGulls, typical ! Just when we were wondering if we would see any white-winged gulls along comes one presumably half-way into summer plumage (on the day when Andy and I didn't visit !).Well done Mark.

    Thanks Roger .. It was being very grumpy towards the Black Headed. A birder from Plymouth said earlier he had seen one on the beach so i'm guessing this must be the bird he mentioned. Hope the butterfly meeting went well.
