    nope, they're Reed Buntings :-)
    (f) top photo, note the stripes on her chest and mark from her beak.
    (m) bottom photo, note the white 'moustache', dark head and again, stripiness.

    I spent a few weeks uhmming and arrhing over whether these were mutant(!) sparrows or not. I finally got a better look at them and convinced myself enough to ask the Abbot.
