Grey Heron ......................Ardea cinerea
The heavily cropped Heron was photographed fishing at the poolside . This is the first time I have seen him away from the far reed beds. The heavy rain and lack of human activity possibly bought about this occurrence.
Very interesting birds
ReplyDeleteI have at times seen as many as 20 or so on the banks of the Teign as the wife and I travel past on the train to Exeter
In flight they always remind me of Pteradactyls

I agree it is nice to see the waders back again at Par
